Project Topeka Community Food Drive partners with Prairie Land Food of Topeka to store collected food and leverage the buying power of its financial contributions for bulk purchases that are distributed to the participating agencies throughout the year.
Prairie Land Food, a nonprofit organization that started in September 2006, is located in the Prairie Land Food warehouse at 7215 S.W. Topeka Blvd. The pantry is open from noon to 2 p.m. Monday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday.
In addition to its food pantry offerings, Prairie Land Food also offers Prairie Paks, which are sold for about half of retail prices, for people who volunteer in their churches or communities.
Proceeds from the Prairie Paks, which contain an assortment of frozen meat, groceries and produce items, help fund the food pantry.
